“This is too much, Kenny.”
It wasn’t. To him it was penny. He had more than enough to
give her a grand or two. Not like his sister every asked for anything before.
Kelly was the most determine woman he knew. She thought any help was a handout
and she refused to take them. She wanted to make it on her own, not on the
money her brother worked hard to gain.
“Take it.”
“No.”
“It’s a gift. Do you refuse gifts.” Kenny knew that was a
low blow comment, but he wanted his sister to have her own house, and the bank
demanded a down payment of ten grand. Kelly had eight of it.
“It’s too much. You know how I feel about - -“
“I know. It’s either you take this money or I go and pay the
entire down payment for you.”
“You would not.”
“I would. You deserve that house. You’ve built your company
up from the scratch. Before long it will be the most popular massage parlor in
the world.” Okay, that might have been a bit overboard, but it was the truth.
Kelly had worked hard. She had built her company from the bottom up. And it
could go worldwide if she worked hard enough.
“You can be sweet, but a pain in the ass, brother.”
“I know. Take the money and don’t make me piss you off any
more than you are.”
